Grant & Danny: New Commanders owners have to prioritize new practice facility

With the Josh Harris ownership group set to take over the Commanders pending an expected approval from NFL owners on Thursday, Grant and Danny say one of the first orders of business should be a shiny new practice facility.

Grant was in awe of the new Jaguars facility, a $120 million project they unveiled on Tuesday, and says the Commanders have to be ready to make a similar investment.

"The Commanders have terrible versions of all of this stuff, comparatively," Grant said. "I do think it matters, I do think it affects the bottom line in terms of results, and they're going to have, with this new ownership group that's taking over, an opportunity to fix it soon. But they only get one crack at it."

In fairness, the franchise has believed it would be moving to a new stadium eventually, and likely didn't want to put that kind of money into a facility they would be moving from in a few years, but Danny agrees that pristine facilities are vital to the team's performance, and what better way to show the new owners are committed to change and success than sprucing up the facilities.

"To me, not having excellent facilities, I just can't do that," Danny said. "This isn't 'Major League' when they're flying on a propeller plane with livestock."
