Nick Sundberg CRUSHES Ron Rivera to Grant & Danny, says Ron 'lied to my face' offseason before cutting him

Nick Sundberg was the long snapper in DC for a decade, his last season coming in Ron Rivera’s first here.

Sundberg joined Grant & Danny Tuesday to discuss the Commanders releasing his successor, Camaron Cheeseman, this week, and we found out that he has no ill will toward Cheeseman…but DEFINITELY does not like Ron Rivera, as evidenced when Grant asked Nick if it was hard to see what the Commanders have become:

“Yeah, but I mean, hopefully I'll be able to root for the team again in a few weeks,” he said. “It’s tough to watch Ron, man. I mean, if I got cut in January or just told I wasn't being brought back in January, but three days before free agency starts? That’s a little frustrating. That aggravated me quite a bit. I could have been rehabbing in Phoenix the whole time, but I was there trying to do what was right for the team and all that that sort of thing, and they were and constantly like, ‘don't worry, we'll get (a contract) done, we'll talk to your agent,’ just lying to your face type of stuff. So that is annoying.”

Grant could only say “that does not speak to the culture we're being told that they had, where everything was on the up and up,” and when he asked Nick if he would be rooting for the good guys maybe by February, this is how he replied:

“Hopefully soon, sooner rather than later.”

He did, at least, have great things to say about punter Tress Way when Grant said “he had a hell of a year as a holder.”

“Tress is a superstar, you’ve known that forever. That’s what’s tough about this whole situation with cheese too – I know Tress was helping him as much as he could,” Sundberg said. “Tress is a great vet who is a build you up type of guy. He's never been a break you down type of person, so any time anything happens, I know Tress was right there, just building him back up, pumping him full of confidence. That’s what's really tough about it that it got to this point, because coach Kaczor is the same way. I know Cheese is frustrated that it got to this point.”
