Sam Cosmi excited by additions of Laremy Tunsil, first-round pick Josh Conerly Jr.

The Commanders took offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr. with their first-round pick and added left tackle Laremy Tunsil in the offseason, giving them their bookends and beefing up an offensive line that had just two holdovers as starters last year.

Sam Cosmi won’t be in between those bookends right away, as he’s still recovering from a knee injury suffered in the Divisional Round in Detroit, but he’s fired up for the chance when he’s healthy.

Cosmi told A-Wadd that he’s been working out at the Commanders’ facility and has had ‘no hiccups so far’ in his recovery from the torn ACL, and he’s working hard to get back so he can be on the field for the fans who got a 12-5 season and a trip to the NFC Championship Game after a quarter-century of Dan Snyder disappointment.

“What our ownership has been able to do, with bringing in DQ and AP and all these key pieces, and being able to build a culture with this team and have the fan base have that belief, it’s super special,” Cosmi said. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it and it just makes you play even harder; the wins matter so much more, and the losses hurt so much more. The support we got was something special, something really appreciated by us and our organization as players.”

Listen to Cosmi’s entire visit, which also includes thoughts on his participation in the VA/DC Best Buddies Walk, changes in the Commanders’ culture, and more, starting about 27 minutes into the audio above!
