The Drab vs. EB battle over Jayden being 'elite' reached a new ugly head after Titans win
Drab and EB have been having a back-and-forth all year about the right adjective to describe Jayden Daniels as a quarterback, but as the Commanders sit 8-5 heading into a much-needed bye, the question popped up once again: is JD5 an elite quarterback?
“I just Tweeted this, and I want the world to know this and have this documented: Drab, at 9:23 a.m. on December 2nd, 2024, said that Jayden Daniels is an average NFL quarterback,” EB said during Monday’s show. “So I just want the world to know that.”
“You know what's funny? You don't talk to me for a month on Mondays, but Jayden Daniels throws a couple three-yard touchdown passes and suddenly you're attacking me again when they beat the lowly Titans?” Drab shot back heatedly. “Get a grip! You are a front-runner! You don't say anything when he struggles, the blame is on Kliff or the refs or dropped passes. Jayden’s above any criticism, but he throws a couple of touchdown passes and you're out to attack me all over again! You didn’t talk to me for a month, because you had your tail tucked between your legs!”
Apparently, EB overheard Drab say that during a commercial break, more eavesdropping than a convo between the two, and Eric and Matt seemingly disagree on what they’ve heard from the other…
“You told me last week what you love about me is I never back off,” EB said, but Drab’s take was “You’re delusional in your beliefs!”
“Every week for probably nine weeks, we’d start talking about Jayden Daniels and the offense, and at some point, you would turn to Drab and he would go, ‘hey, Drab, what do you think about him?’ JP jumped in. “He wouldn't give you what you wanted, so then Eric was quiet for a couple of weeks, and so last week I said, ‘hey, are you gonna ask Drab about Jayden?’”
Drab says he respects the stance that EB is not a flip-flopper, but Eric is wrong, and Jayden hasn’t yet proven he’s elite.
