Chase Young put an end to the offseason noise on Monday with his arrival to Washington's mandatory minicamp.
Young caused a bit of a stir — in so far as any star player declining to participate in voluntary OTAs does — by no-showing through the first round of Washington's offseason workouts.
"Teammates, especially rookies, will look to Young to set the tone. If he's not there, it's a missed opportunity," wrote 106.7 The Fan columnist Rick Snider last week. "It's also a bonding time of year so that's a second missed opportunity. Of course, it's a chance to get better so add a third missed opportunity."
None of that is to imply Young wasn't working out on his own time. His social media has been littered with high-intensity workout videos the past few weeks.
Now with minicamp underway, workouts require mandatory participation from all Washington players, and Young was there, in the flesh, with the rest of his teammates.
"Chase Young checking in. I've got the jersey on," Young said in a quick video for social media on Monday. "Suited and booted. Y'all know what time it is."
