Washington Football will be without their top free agent signing of the offseason as cornerback Kendall Fuller will be inactive for Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Fuller was listed as doubtful on Friday due to a knee injury.
Ron Rivera’s defense will now go with another free agent signee Ronald Darby on the outside partnered with Fabian Moreau and use Jimmy Moreland in the slot.
In addition to Fuller, Washington named QB Alex Smith, RB Bryce Love, LB Thomas Davis Sr., T David Sharpe, and T Saahdiq Charles as inactive.
The Eagles named RT Lane Johson inactive, which means Philadelphia QB Carson Wentz will have a totally reworked right side of his offensive line. This could be a big boost for the Washington defensive front, which is primed to be the anchor to Rivera’s defense.
With a patchwork offensive line for the Eagles, the No. 2 overall pick from the 2020 NFL Draft, Chase Young, could have a NFL debut to remember.
