For the first time since he sustained a gruesome leg injury quarterback Alex Smith is active and will be dressed for Washington.

Smith, who hasn’t played since November 2018, will be Washington’s only reserve quarterback behind starter Kyle Allen, as Dwayne Haskins is ill and will not be at FedEx Field Sunday.

This will be the first time Smith will be active in 693 days, after he broke his leg in Week 11 of the 2018 season against the Houston Texans and suffered multiple complications and setbacks during his rehabilitation. Smith was the No. 3 quarterback after he spent the 2019 season on injured reserve.

Head coach Ron Rivera told reporters this week he has "no trepidation having (Smith) come in and play if that's what happens."

On defense, Washington gets the No. 2 overall pick, Chase Young, back after he missed Week 4 against the Ravens due to a groin injury.
