Report: 5 teams have called about Deshaun Watson. Washington isn't one of them.

The Washington Football Team has not so much as inquired about a potential trade for Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson.

According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, at least five teams have called the Texans about a potential trade for Watson, and the Washington Football Team isn't one of them.

"I have not heard Washington come up one time," McClain told 106.7 The Fan's Brian Mitchell and JP Finlay. "But, I never heard Arizona come up one time for J.J. Watt, either. There's been at least five teams that have called, and you know there will be more, because if you need a quarterback, why not inquire?"

As Houston's relationship continues to sour with Watson, the 25-year-old passer, given his young age and early NFL dominance, is expected to command an astronomical return should the Texans pull the trigger on a deal. Watson, the 12th overall pick in 2017, is already a three-time Pro Bowler and led the league in passing yardage (4,823) and yards gained per passing attempt (8.9) in 2020.

Considering NFL teams can only deal up to three years in the future, McClain anticipates Houston, at the very least, would want three first-round picks, two second-rounders and "maybe a starter" in return for Watson. "But you'll get a great quarterback for more than a decade," he said.
