Report: Washington signs veteran LB Kendricks off Seattle practice squad

The Washington Football Team has signed veteran linebacker Mychal Kendricks, 30, off of the Seahawks practice squad, according to a report from NFL Network.

Kendricks' signing provides Ron Rivera with some much-needed depth at the linebacker position. The WFT was without Cole Holcomb (concussion) and Kevin Pierre-Louis (ankle) on Sunday against the Seahawks. Shaun Dion Hamilton stepped into a starting role in place of Pierre-Louis but suffered an elbow injury during the game and did not return.

According to Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post, Kendricks will fly privately to Washington in order to bypass the six required days of COVID pre-testing.

He had not appeared in a game for the Seahawks this season.

The former second round pick's best season came in 2013 while with the Eagles when he started 15 games and recorded 4 sacks, 3 interceptions, four fumble recoveries, and 106 combined tackles.

Kendricks - during his time with the Browns in 2018 - pleaded guilty to insider trading. He has yet to serve any time due to several delays.
