Bub Carrington went off for a career-high 32 points Thursday night against Orlando, with nine boards and seven assists as well – about as close as he has come to his first career triple-double.
But, in addition to that, he drained a career-high seven three-pointers, and in a fun fact, leads the way for the trio as the Wizards have become the first team in NBA history to have three rookies each with 100 or more made three-point field goals.
The win-loss record isn’t the best, even if everyone knew coming in it wouldn’t be nor was it really supposed to be, but Keefe has seen a lot of growth this season.
“You always want more wins for sure – we’re competitors, I'm a competitor – but the one thing I think is good is that we talked about growing and developing throughout the year, and we’ve gotten better, played pretty well after the All-Star break,” Keefe said. “Our defense has improved, and developing our whole roster, those three rookies have gotten so much better, but there's other success stories within the whole roster. Really happy for the development of our team, and our record has improved as the season has progressed; we want to be playing our best basketball by the end of the year, and we feel like we're doing that. So. I think that is a really positive note as we go into the offseason.”
