The Junkies: Wizards should deal Bradley Beal or Kristaps Porzingis sign and trade for Trae Young

Trae Young could reportedly be on the trading block at some point, despite the Hawks making the playoffs after Young helped Atlanta take down the Heat in Tuesday night’s play-in game.

With that rumor in mind, Cakes would jump at the chance to swap Bradley Beal for a new star, one that can stay healthy.

“I don’t know his work ethic day to day, but why don’t we look at games played,” Cakes said. “Trae Young makes a comparable salary to Bradley Beal. He made $37 million, next year it’s $40, the year after that $43, and by the end of his deal, he’s gonna be making nearly $49 million. I bring that up because Bradley Beal’s salary is about the same, but we’ve talked about Bradley Beal playing in 90 games the last two seasons.

“I would make that deal 100 times out of 100, because they have a problem at point guard. He’s a shooting point guard, but he averaged 10.2 assists per game.”

Lurch doesn’t see the Hawks making such a deal, but what about a sign-and-trade with another big Wizards contributor?

“Why would the Atlanta Hawks want Bradley Beal, who is making the same as Trae Young and never plays?” Lurch said. “You could sign Porzingis to a big deal and trade him like that…but I don’t know why the Hawks would want Bradley Beal.”
