Washington Wizards' 2024-25 schedule released
Be there Oct. 24, either in Chinatown or somewhere tuned into The Team 980 – because it’s seven days before Halloween that the Washington Wizards kick off their 2024-25 NBA season.
The Wizards will open their ’24-25 slate at home against the defending NBA Champion Boston Celtics on Thursday, Oct. 24, marking their first season opener at Capital One Arena since the 2018-19 season.
Four of their first six are in DC, with their first road game in Atlanta on Oct. 28, and of course, the Mexico City game against Miami on Nov. 2, marking their first regular-season game outside the U.S. or Canada since 2019.
Other highlights of the schedule release include the schedule for the Emirates NBA Cup in-season tournament between Nov. 15 and Dec.
3, which will see the Wizards go to Atlanta, host Boston and Chicago, and go to Cleveland before the knockout/consolation rounds; should the Wiz qualify for the knockout round, it’ll be a quarterfinal on Dec. 10 or 11, the semifinal on Dec. 14, and championship on Dec. 17, and if not, they will play regular-season games against teams TBD on dates between Dec. 12 and 16.
