The Wizards were able to squeak out a close victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder at home, 122-118. Despite the win, an altercation between Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Montrezl Harrell broke out at halftime, leading to both players having to be separated.
According to a report from NBA Insider Shams Charania, Harrell got mad at Caldwell-Pope because he didn't pass him the ball on the final play of the first half. On their way back into the locker room, the two started going back and forth with each other before each man threw a punch at the other--with both failing to connect.
The fight stopped once they got to the locker room, but according to Charania, there was additional security nearby in case the fight was to start back up.
Here is a video of the last play to end the first half that started the confrontation. You can catch a little bit of the jawing between Harrell and Caldwell-Pope as they head into the tunnel.
Once the second half started, there was no further altercation. Caldwell-Pope banked a three-pointer in the last minute of the game to help the Wizards secure the win. KCP finished with 16 points while Harrell finished with 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
After a hot start, the Wizards now sit at one game above .500 and are ninth in the Eastern Conference.
