Zach Brown was among this year's cap casualties for the Redskins.
The 29-year-old linebacker was released alongside Stacy McGee on Wednesday, freeing up $8.025 million in cap space as the Redskins enter the first official day of free agency.
It was Brown's release that raised questions of his value to Greg Manusky's defense, which swiftly became a topic of debate between 106.7 The Fan's Grant Paulsen and Craig Hoffman.
no he's not.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) March 13, 2019so did the entire league. no one traded for him. also citing his contract as evidence that he was good is intellectually dishonest. we all knew it was a "fake" number. they were never bringing him back for a 2nd year at $8m+
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) March 13, 2019the same reason the Redskins traded for Keenum. You get him without him hitting the market. If you REALLY want him because he's good, you give up a 7th for him.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) March 13, 2019The Keenum trade was exceptionally rare as you know. And the QB and ILB positions are a little different.
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) March 13, 2019Mike Jones jumped into the fray as well.
This is a joke, right?
— Mike Jones (@ByMikeJones) March 13, 2019He's definitely a good football player.
— Mike Jones (@ByMikeJones) March 13, 2019to say "none of his teammates in mulitple cities will tell you he's anything better than hot and cold" is a pretty big claim. You been calling a lot of people in Buffalo?
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) March 13, 2019This is so spicy and Im here for it. There's noone I trust more than GP & Craig with their takes. Can y'all duke this out on air??!
— Chris Clark (@CeeClark) March 13, 2019Lucky for the above listener (and you), Craig and Grant did take this to the airwaves.
