This week's slate of AWadd Radio kicked off with Epstein in a sling, thanks to an injury suffered playing wiffle ball over Memorial Day weekend.
"I ground out right in between first base and the pitcher," he said. "[...] I'm rounding first base, going to second. I'm looking back to try to find where the ball is, see if I could stretch this into a double. The game was on the line. I'm ultra-competitive.
"I'm rounding first base, I look back, and then I turned around and I just lost complete control of my body. I'm running as fast as I can and ended up running as fast as I could into the dirt, straight into the ground. [I] busted up my shoulder, I landed directly on my shoulder -- smashed it. Smashed my shoulder, destroyed my labrum, I can't even lift it up above my head. I'm donezo on the ground. I'm crawling to second base to try to be safe. Got out anyway."
