Allen: Sunday's win 'an ugly one, but we'll take it'

Bills quarterback Josh Allen spoke with the media following the Bills' 14-9 victory over the Giants on "Sunday Night Football"

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills were able to rebound from a Week 5 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, but it certainly wasn't pretty.

In a Sunday night showdown with the Giants at Highmark Stadium, the Buffalo defense had another solid outing, holding New York from entering the end zone the entire game and holding them to three field goals.

It was another sluggish start for the offense this week, as Buffalo failed to put up points on the scoreboard until the very first play of the fourth quarter. However, the offense did enough late to eventually claim victory, 14-9, on a brisk and dreary Sunday night.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen was able to complete 19-of-30 passing attempts for 169 yards and two touchdowns. He was also intercepted once in the second quarter.

Despite the offense's stagnation during the first half, Allen knows Sunday's victory was one that could've gone a lot more smoother. He feels it starts with getting into a proper rhythm right out of the gate, both in the air and on the ground.

"We need to find ways to get off to a faster start, and I don't think we have done that the past few games," said Allen following Sunday night's victory. "At the end of the day, it's a win, an ugly one, but we'll take it. But there's a lot of things we have to learn from and get better at."

During the second quarter, Allen was taken out of the game after a roughing the passer penalty against the Giants, as the independent neurologist called down to the field for Allen to be examined for a concussion.

"Yeah, they spotted me from up-top, and wanted to check me out the next play, the previous play is where I felt I hurt myself a little bit," Allen said.
