Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - It has been a busy couple of days for Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane, as NFL Free Agency continues on.
Although the Bills did some work to finagle to salary cap, which allowed for the addition of a couple of pieces to the roster, Beane says the job is still not done when he met with the media on Thursday.

In addition to some additions, the Bills were able to clear up enough cap space to re-sign All-Pro safety Jordan Poyer on a two-year deal. Poyer is now back in the fold on defense alongside longtime partner Micah Hyde, backing up a secondary that has been quite consistent during head coach Sean McDermott's tenure in Buffalo.
"Glad to get him back and re-pair him with Micah [Hyde]," Beane said on Thursday. "He's a leader, he's a dog, he's an edge to our defense, and he can take the ball away."

The Bills did end up losing one of their biggest starters on defense this spring, as linebacker Tremaine Edmunds has signed a four-year deal with the Chicago Bears. Beane says he was not surprised at the money Edmunds was given by the Bears.
"We love him, didn't want to lose him, but again, it's a puzzle piece. Unfortunately, you can't keep them all, Beane said.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Bills did made a move to sign wide receiver Deonte Harty from the New Orleans Saints. Beane looks at this move as being very big from not only a yards-after-catch perspective, but also the fact Harty was a kick/punt returner in his time with the Saints.
"When you got a guy who's a punt returner, who plays receiver, those guys are generally pretty good 'YAC' players," Beane said.
Beane still plans on making moves this offseason, and looking at players that are still on the free agent market. He says he has been in close contact with running back Devin Singletary, and they monitor every position as they look to add competition and depth.
When it comes to running backs on the roster, Beane mentioned he wants to look at someone who is more of a bigger running back to add to the competition between James Cook and Nyhiem Hines.
Beane knows there is an arms race in the AFC East this coming season, as teams have become more competitive with their offseason additions. The Bills know others will be coming after them for the AFC East crown, especially since Buffalo has won the division in the past three years.
