Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN/WGR 550) - A group of Buffalo Bills fans, tired of tailgating in the elements, came up with a brilliant idea: Buy a home near the Highmark Stadium, decorate it in Bills colors and make it a destination come game days.
Clark Webster, aka "Mafia Mando", says he and his friends normally would throw a tailgate for Bills games like everybody else under tents in lots around the stadium in Orchard Park.
"The last couple seasons were pretty rough, to say the least, with the weather and the cold and the rain. So a couple of guys pretty much got fed up with this and said, 'We're gonna buy a house,'" said Webster in an interview with WBEN.
They bought the house along Big Tree Road right behind the Big Tree Inn, and are dubbing the house the "12th Man Misfitz Manor".
When it comes to the decorating process of the house, Webster says it was simply a matter of winging it.
"Originally, it was just going to be touching a little red and red and white accents. Next thing you know, [my friend] said, 'No, I want blue. And we want the Bills blue.' And I said 'We got to put some Zubaz on the garage, and then the front doorway.' Everything kind of snowballed from there," Webster explained.
When it comes the overall house, including the inside, Webster says he and his friends spared no expense to make the manor into something special.
"A lot of time online, eBay, awesome places just ordering anything you get your hands on. If it's cool, it's got Buffalo Bills on it, it's going in the house," he said.
The grand opening of the manor is set for the home opener on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.
