Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills trimmed their roster on Tuesday to the maximum 53 players for the upcoming regular season ahead of the 4 p.m. ET deadline.

LISTEN LIVE TO WGR:

The team announced a total of 27 cuts with some of the notable releases including linebacker A.J. Klein, long snapper Reid Ferguson, wide receiver Andy Isabella and offensive lineman David Quessenberry.

However, WGR Bills beat reporter Sal Capaccio reports the Bills intend to re-sign Ferguson in order to allow for a player or two to make the 53-man roster and then be placed on Injured Reserve, keeping them from missing the entire season on I.R.

The Bills also announced a number of other roster moves, including the placement of edge rusher Von Miller on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list to start the season. This means Miller will miss, at least, the first four games of the 2023 season.

The Bills also placed quarterback Matt Barkley on injured reserve, as he recovers from an elbow injury.

In addition, the Bills announced the trade of edge rusher Boogie Basham and a 2025 seventh-round pick to the New York Giants in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round pick.
