Sabres sign Craig Anderson to one-year deal

The 41-year-old returns to the Sabres for his 20th NHL season

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Sabres have addressed their goaltending, in part, for the 2022-23 NHL season.

The team announced on Thursday the signing of veteran netminder Craig Anderson to a one-year deal with an average annual salary of $1.5 million.

Anderson, 41, spent last season with the Sabres, where he played in 31 games and registered a 17-12-2 record with a 3.12 goals-against average and an .897 save percentage.

Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams has some work to do this offseason in goal, as Anderson is currently the only goalie under contract with the team heading into next season.

This will be Anderson’s 20th season in the NHL, with other stops coming with the Chicago Blackhawks, Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals and Ottawa Senators along the way.
