Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Sabres announced Wednesday the team will induct the two newest members of the Sabres Hall of Fame - Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville - on Jan. 14 just before a matchup against the Colorado Avalanche.

Vanek and Pominville go into the Sabres Hall of Fame together, just as they started their careers together with the Rochester Americans in the American Hockey League.
Pominville played 733 games with the Sabres, finishing 10th in franchise history with 217 goals, ninth all-time with 304 assists, and his 521 career points in Buffalo ranks eighth on the all-time franchise list. That equated to 0.71 points per-game with the franchise.
As for Vanek, he played 598 career games with the Sabres, ranking fifth in franchise history with 254 goals, 14th all-time with 243 assists and 11th in team history with 497 points. He averaged more points per-game than Pominville at 0.83.
In his NHL career, Pominville played 1,060 games, scoring 293 goals and 434 assists for 727 points.
Vanek played 1,029 career NHL games, scoring 373 goals and 416 assists for 789 points.
After the two former captains go into the Sabres Hall of Fame, there will be 46 members.
