Colin Kaepernick hasn’t suited up for an NFL team since New Year’s Day 2017. Despite that five-year gap, Kaepernick is still staying in shape and waiting for a call from an NFL franchise.

The 34-year-old shared a video of a workout Thursday which was quickly quote-tweeted by ESPN’s Adam Schefter with some context.

We’ve seen these types of videos and heard these types of proclamations throughout the past five years. It seems like Kaepernick’s playing days are behind him, despite his clinging hopes.

Kaepernick has remained in the spotlight with his initiatives, as his Know Your Rights Camp organization will fund independent autopsies in police-related deaths. Spike Lee is also directing a multi-part documentary on Kaepernick’s journey.

Whether that journey includes an NFL comeback remains to be seen, but Kaepernick is making his intentions known.
