South Carolina is the #1 overall seed in this year's NCAA Women's Tournament. They'll look to make history and won't have to leave the Palmetto State to do it, until the Final Four.

The undefeated and top ranked Gamecocks will begin their National Title defense, Friday in Columbia when they take on 16 seed, Norfolk State. They would then be at home again in the 2nd round, taking on the winner of Marquette and South Florida.
Two wins would bring the Gamecocks to Greenville for the round of 16, a win there would keep them at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena for the Regional Finals. The Gamecocks would not leave the state until the Final Four , which is being held in Dallas this year.
The Gamecocks are chasing history, as they look to become the 1st team to win back-to-back National Titles since Uconn's run of four straight from 2013-2016.
The Gamecocks also look to become just the 5th program all-time to go undefeated and win the National Championship. If they are able to do that, they'll join Uconn, Tennessee, Texas and Baylor on that exclusive list.
