Tigers down Tar Heels for third straight win

Clemson won it's third straight game, as they downed nationally ranked North Carolina 31-20 at Death Valley on Saturday. Clemson gained over 450 total yards and had 25 1st downs. The Tiger defense also held UNC Standout Drake Maye to 16 of 36 passing and 209 yards, a TD and a pick.

UNC led 7-0 after the 1st quarter. Clemson tied it with a 14 play, 80 yard scoring drive. The Tigers then scored just before the half to lead 14-7 at the break.

The Tigers then extended the lead on a Phil Mafah TD run in the third. The two teams traded touchdowns and Clemson closed the quarter with a 2-14 lead. The Tigers added a 4th quarter field goal to take their largest lead of the day at 31-14. UNC then scored with 7 minutes left to make it 31-20, that was as close as they would get.

Clemson has now won three in a row. The Tigers take on South Carolina in The Palmetto Bowl Saturday night in Columbia. The game is set for 7:30 kickoff and will be nationally televised on The SEC Network.
