The Blackhawks hopped up to that position after entering with the 12th-highest odds to land the top pick at 2.5 percent. The had 8.2 percent odds to land a top-three pick, as ended up happening.
It will be the Blackhawks' highest draft slot since 2007, when they chose Patrick Kane with the No. 1 pick. The Devils landed the No. 1 pick, while the Rangers grabbed the No. 2 slot.
The NHL Draft takes place June 21-22.
