(670 The Score) The Blackhawks have placed defenseman Connor Murphy on the long-term injured reserve, they announced Wednesday.
Murphy is suffering from a groin injury. He will have to miss at least seven days of action. Murphy had 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 52 games for Chicago last season. He had appeared in six games for the Blackhawks this season.
In a corresponding move, Chicago recalled defenseman Dennis Gilbert from AHL Rockford.
