(670 The Score) The Phillies landed the star free agent they sought so desperately.

Ending months of intrigue, outfielder Bryce Harper agreed to a 13-year, $330-million deal with the Phillies on Thursday afternoon, according to reports.

Harper, 26, is a six-time All-Star who has spent his entire seven-year career with the Nationals. He has averaged 32 homers and 91 RBIs per 162 games played and carries a .388 on-base percentage, .512 slugging percentage and .900 OPS for his career.

The White Sox were in pursuit of Harper early in the offseason before fading and turning their attention to infielder Manny Machado, who signed with the Padres. The White Sox met with Harper in Las Vegas back on Nov. 19, selling their young core in the recruiting pitch, but as the offseason dragged on, it became more and more clear that Chicago wasn't going to be Harper's desination.
