(670 The Score) The Bulls completed a minor trade Monday morning that will have no immediate ramifications on the court.
Chicago acquired guard Michael Carter-Williams along with cash considerations from the Houston while sending a future conditional second-round pick to the Rockets, ESPN reported. The Bulls will waive Carter-Williams once the trade is completed. The second-round pick is so heavily protected that it's unlikely to convey down the line, per reports.
The deal has financial ramifications for both teams. The Bulls acquired cash on the side, while the Rockets saved $2.6 million in luxury tax payments by ridding themselves of Carter-Williams, ESPN reported. His contract would've become guaranteed Monday evening.
Carter-Williams was a little-used reserve for the Rockets. He spent the 2016-'17 season with the Bulls.
In a corresponding move, the Bulls are waiving wing MarShon Brooks, whom they recently acquired in a trade with the Grizzlies.
