(670 The Score) Bulls second-year big man Wendell Carter Jr. has been honored as one of the league's best young players.
Carter, 20, was selected to play in the Rising Stars game on Feb. 14 as part of the All-Star weekend festivities in Chicago. He won't play in the game due to a right ankle sprain that has kept him out since Jan. 6, but his selection is a nod to how he's viewed by opposing teams in the league because assistant coaches cast the votes for the participants.
Carter is averaging 11.7 points and 9.9 rebounds in 37 games this season. His rebounding average leads all qualified first- and second-year players in the NBA.
Pelicans star rookie Zion Williamson, who recently returned to action, is Carter's injury replacement. Carter isn't expected to return from his ankle injury until after the All-Star break.
Bulls rookie guard Coby White wasn't selected for the Rising Stars game, though he could be a candidate to be an injury replacement.
