(670 The Score) The Bulls and White Sox, who are both owned by Jerry Reinsdorf, will donate $200,000 to support the Chicago Community COVID-19 Response Fund, they announced Thursday.
The fund is a collaboration between the city of Chicago, the Chicago Community Trust and the United Way that provides financial support to nonprofit organizations that serve vulnerable communities.
The fund will provide support in key areas such as emergency food, basic supplies and rent/mortgage/utility assistance, according to the teams' new release.
In addition to the Bulls' donation, the United Center is being transformed into a coronavirus logistics hub. It will serve as a first responder staging area, collect medical supplies and more.
