(670 The Score) After previously declaring he would play, the Bears have listed defensive lineman Akiem Hicks as questionable against the Chiefs on Sunday night.
Hicks returned to action against the Packers last Sunday after missing eight games with a left elbow injury. Hicks twice aggravated his elbow injury Sunday, a day in which the Bears were eliminated from playoff contention.
Despite the clear pain that Hicks was dealing with and the Bears having nothing at stake, coach Matt Nagy indicated earlier this week that Hicks would play against the Chiefs. Nagy still expects Hicks to play, he told reporters Friday.
Hicks acknowledged the possibility of not playing again this season, saying he's hopeful to avoid offseason surgery on his left elbow.
"That's what we want to avoid," Hicks said. "We want to avoid putting it in a situation where I would have to (have surgery)."
The Bears ruled out receiver Taylor Gabriel (concussion) and tackle Bobby Massie (ankle) for Sunday. Cornerback Prince Amukamara (hamstring) was listed as questionable.
Amukamara was a full participant in practice Wednesday before being limited in his work the following two days. The Bears removed Amukamara from their game last week due to his hamstring issue. Kevin Toliver took his place at cornerback.
The Bears (7-7) and Chiefs (10-4) kick off at 7:20 p.m. Sunday from Soldier Field.
