(670 The Score) The Bears and three-time Pro Bowl guard Kyle Long have agreed to a restructured contract, the team announced Tuesday.
The terms of Long's reconfigured deal weren't immediately known, though it opened up salary cap room for the Bears in 2019. Long took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to signal his excitement.
"Bear for life," Long tweeted.
Long, 30, previously was under contract through 2021. He has played in 73 games and started 72 of them since the Bears drafted him in the first round in 2013. Long has dealt with various injuries the past three seasons. He played eight games in 2018 as he landed on injured reserve with a foot injury.
The Bears will return their entire starting offensive line in 2019. They signed right tackle Bobby Massie to a four-year extension in Janaury.
The Bears recently freed up about $6 million in cap space by releasing tight end Dion Sims. They're also expected to release kicker Cody Parkey at the start of the league new year in March.
Bears general manager Ryan Pace is set to speak with reporters in Indianapolis on Wednesday morning as the NFL Combine starts.
