(670 The Score) As the Bears seek solutions to improve their offensive line in 2020, three-time Pro Bowl guard Larry Warford doesn't seem to be in the team's plans.
Bears coach Matt Nagy suggested Tuesday the team is comfortable with its offensive line, even with the 28-year-old Warford available as a free agent.
"I know (Bears general manager Ryan Pace) and his guys, they look at everything and then we discuss it," Nagy said. "And that's not something where we're at. We love where we're at with all of our guys. We feel like Ryan and his staff of personnel guys and our coaches have just tackled this offseason really well between the draft and free agency. We're so far into this thing, we feel really good about it. So that's just kind of of where we're at. I haven't been there."
Warford was released by the Saints on May 10 in a move that saved New Orleans more than $7 million in salary cap space. His three Pro Bowl honors came across the past three seasons.
The Bears addressed an opening at right guard by signing 26-year-old Germain Ifedi to a one-year deal in late March. A first-round pick in 2016, Ifedi is projected to be the Bears' lone new starter on their offensive line, which was inconsistent in 2019.
Nagy stands confident even as the team can't conduct on-field work during the coronavirus pandemic.
"There's a lot of mental stuff that we've thrown at them, so they've just got to prepare themselves as much as possible," Nagy said. "So that when the physical part comes in, they can play fast. Because the slower you play, the worse you play."
