(670 The Score) With the NFL's deadline to opt out of playing this season looming, Bears coach Matt Nagy on Wednesday wasn't aware of any more players from his team planning to not play.

Players must decide by Thursday at 3 p.m. CT whether to play the 2020 season amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"Right now with the pulse of our team, we're in a really good place," Nagy said Wednesday. "We're kind of in a rhythm right now.

"It's just to make the best decision for them, and then we fully support anybody who does that."

The Bears have had two players opt out in nose tackle Eddie Goldman and safety Jordan Lucas. The number of NFL players to opt out was near 60 by Wednesday afternoon.

Goldman, 26, is one of the most notable players in the league to opt out. He fell into the high-risk category, according to multiple reports. That designation allows Goldman to earn $350,000 and an accrued NFL season while sitting out. Players not considered high-risk who choose a voluntary opt-out will receive a stipend of $150,000 that's treated as a salary advance.

Bears defensive lineman Akiem Hicks took to Twitter after Goldman's decision and expressed his support.

The Bears will back any player who chooses to opt out before the deadline Thursday, Nagy said.

"It's emotional," Nagy said. "It's not easy. This isn't just something of a click of a button, 'I'm opting out.' No, there's a lot of thought that goes into this for these guys. So, we support them from both ways."
