Bears' Trubisky Sidelined By Shoulder Injury

CHICAGO (670 The Score) -- Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky suffered a left shoulder injury during the team's first possession against the Vikings on Sunday afternoon and was sidelined for the remainder of the game.

Coach Matt Nagy didn't have details on the extent of Trubisky's injury after the game, which the Bears won 16-6 over the Vikings. He anticipates knowing more in the next two days.

"It's unfortunate," Nagy said.

The injury occurred with 12:19 left in the first quarter as Trubisky was sacked while scrambling to avoid pressure. He fumbled the football, but the play was nullified due to a defensive holding.

Trubisky walked with a Bears team trainer directly to the injury tent on the home sideline of Soldier Field. After an evaluation, he left for the locker room with team medical personnel. Trubisky returned to the sidelines later in the game with his left shoulder in a sling.

Backup quarterback Chase Daniel replaced Trubisky. Daniel capped the Bears' 14-play, 75-yard drive with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Tarik Cohen, giving Chicago a 7-0 lead to open the game.

Daniel finished 22-of-30 for 195 yards and a touchdown. The 32-year-old Daniel has been in the NFL since 2009. Sunday marked his 63rd appearance over those 11 seasons.

The Bears didn't alter their offense when Daniel entered at quarterback, Nagy said.

"He was ready," Nagy said. "He prepares himself every single day, and it's never different. It's always the same.

"We're very, very lucky to have Chase as our backup quarterback."
