KANSAS CITY, Mo. (670 The Score) -- White Sox top prospect Eloy Jimenez is set to make his big league debut, batting fifth and playing left field at the Kansas City Royals in the opener Thursday afternoon. 

Jimenez, 22, signed to a six-year, $43-million deal last week after posting a slash line of .311/.359/.519 with 65 home runs and 281 RBIs in 408 games in the minor leagues. Acquired in the White Sox's trade with the Cubs in July 2017, Jimenez is baseball's No. 3 prospect, according to Baseball America and MLB Pipeline.


White Sox left-hander Carlos Rodon will start, boasting a career mark of 26-29 with a 4.01 ERA over 83 big league starts. He will oppose 23-year-old Royals right-hander Brad Keller, who went 9-6 with a 3.06 ERA in 20 starts in his rookie season of 2018.
