(670 The Score) White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson was issued a one-game suspension for his "conduct" in Wednesday's bench-clearing incident with the Royals, Major League Baseball announced on Friday.

Anderson used a racial slur towards Royals starter Brad Keller during a benches-clearing altercation during the sixth inning of Wednesday's game at Guaranteed Rate Field, ESPN is reporting. Anderson is eligible to appeal the suspension.

The incident occurred after Anderson was hit by a pitch from Keller during the sixth inning of that game Wednesday at Guaranteed Rate Field. Anderson had hit a home run in the fourth inning off Keller and celebrated with a bat flip, which incited the Royals' side.

White Sox manager Rick Renteria was also suspended a game for his role in the altercation. He will serve that punishment Friday during the White Sox's game against the Tigers in Detroit. Keller was issued a five-game suspension.
