(670 The Score) The Cubs have added to a bullpen in need of some reinforcement.
Chicago acquired righty reliever Casey Sadler from the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team announced Friday afternoon. The Cubs send minor league infielder Clayton Daniel to the Dodgers in return.
Sadler, 29, had a 2.14 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in 33 appearances split between the Dodgers and Rays in 2019. He has a 3.55 ERA over parts of four MLB seasons, over which he has also struck out 6.3 batters per nine innings.
Daniel, 24, hit .305 with two homers and 21 RBIs in 67 games split between Single-A South Bend and Double-A Tennessee in 2019. The Cubs selected him in the 31st round of the amateur draft in 2018.
The Cubs' 40-man roster now sits at 39 players.
