(670 The Score) The Cubs have hired former big league reliever Craig Breslow as their director of strategic initiatives in baseball operations, they announced Monday morning.
Breslow, 38, had a 12-year MLB career that ended in 2017. In his new role, he will "help to evaluate and implement data-based processes throughout all facets of baseball operations" and "support the organization's pitching infrastructure in player development and the major leagues," the team said.
Breslow is a 2002 graduate of Yale with a degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry.
