(670 The Score) Cubs left-hander Jon Lester left against the Pirates with no outs in the third inning with what the team called left hamstring tightness.

The Cubs led 6-0 at the time. Lester had scored a run by sliding home in the bottom of the second inning and appeared to be walking with discomfort afterward. In the top of the third, he allowed a leadoff single to pitcher Steven Brault and was visited by a trainer after falling behind second baseman Adam Frazier. After Frazier singled, Lester was removed from the game by manager Joe Maddon.

Lester threw two scoreless innings allowing three hits, walking one and striking out four. He also had an RBI double in the bottom of the second inning, which sparked a two-out six-run rally.

The Cubs have a schedule off day Tuesday, meaning Lester wouldn't be lined up to pitch again until Sunday, when Chicago hosts the Los Angeles Angels.
