Kris Bryant (Back) Out Of Cubs' Starting Lineup

(670 The Score) Another star Cubs player is suffering from back stiffness.

Third baseman Kris Bryant is out of the Cubs' starting lineup against the Twins in exhibition play Wednesday because of lower back tightness, manager David Ross said. Bryant will be available off the bench, and Ross fully expects Bryant to be ready when the Cubs host the Brewers in their regular-season opener Friday evening.

"If today's a regular-season game, Kris plays," Ross said.

Bryant, 28, hit .282 with 31 homers, 77 RBIs and a .903 OPS in 147 games in 2019.

Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo has also been suffering from a back ailment recently. He's in the starting lineup for the exhibition finale Wednesday, and the team is hopeful he will be good to go for the opener Friday.
