Left-hander Jon Lester gets the ball for the Cubs, making his fourth Opening Day start in his fifth season in Chicago. The Rangers will give the ball to left-hander Mike Minor.
The Cubs also officially set their 25-man roster Thursday, with no surprises. They placed reliever Tony Barnette (right shoulder inflammation), reliever Xavier Cedeno (left wrist inflammation) and closer Brandon Morrow (right elbow rehab) on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to Monday.
