(670 The Score) The Cubs have signed righty reliever Ryan Tepera to a one-year deal, they announced Friday afternoon.
Tepera, 32, had a 4.98 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 23 appearances for the Blue Jays last season, when he was limited due to a right elbow impingement from mid-May through August. He has a career 3.64 ERA in five MLB seasons. He has struck out 8.5 batters per nine innings and walked 3.2 batters per nine innings for his career.
The Blue Jays selected Tepera in the 19th round of the amateur draft in 2009.
The Cubs' 40-man roster now stands at 39 players.
