(670 The Score) The Cubs have signed infielder/outfielder Derek Dietrich, he announced on his Instagram account Thursday evening.
Dietrich, 31, had been released by the Reds earlier in the week. Dietrich hit .187 with 19 homers, 43 RBIs and a .790 OPS in 113 games with Cincinnati in 2019. He played for Miami in his first six MLB seasons.
The lefty-swinging Dietrich has hit .246 with a .790 OPS and 107 OPS+ in his career.

Dietrich is expected to join the group of Cubs at the team's alternate camp in South Bend. If the Cubs call upon Dietrich down the line, he could fill a variety of spots. He has extensive experience playing second base, third base, first base and left field in his career.
