(670 The Score) The Cubs will call up right-hander Adbert Alzolay from Triple-A Iowa ahead of their game Thursday, they announced late Wednesday night.

Alzolay, 24, was rated as the fourth-best prospect in the Cubs' farm system. He posted a 3.09 ERA and 0.94 WHIP with 46 strikeouts in 32 innings across six starts at Triple-A.

The Cubs are prepared to piggyback Alzolay off right-hander Tyler Chatwood against the Mets on Thursday night. Chatwood is starting in place of injured right-hander Kyle Hendricks but isn't expected to give the team the normal length of a starting pitcher.

In a corresponding move, Chicago will designate lefty reliever Tim Collins for assignment. He had a 3.52 ERA in eight appearances for the Cubs.
