(670 The Score) Former Cubs executive Eldred R. "Salty" Saltwell passed away at age 96 on Sunday, the team announced.
Saltwell had a 30-year tenure with the Cubs that began in 1958. He filled a variety of roles, including concession manager, traveling secretary, assistant secretary, assistant treasurer, general manager (1976), vice president and consultant.
Saltwell worked in baseball for more than 40 years after starting as an usher for Sioux City in the Western League in 1947.
