(670 The Score) On its daily 5 at 5 segment Wednesday morning, the Mully & Haugh crew debated a variety of questions.
-- New Bulls executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas has already set up interviews with three general manager candidates -- Marc Eversley of the 76ers, Mark Hughes of the Clippers and Matt Lloyd of the Magic. Does that mean the clock is ticking for coach Jim Boylen?
-- Karnisovas told the Mully & Haugh Show on Tuesday that players want to play, but more than anything, they want to win. Is that more of a sign of the player he wants or a universal truth?
-- Mel Kiper of ESPN released a two-round mock draft in which he had the Bears take Notre Dame tight end Cole Kmet at No. 43 and Penn State receiver KJ Hamler at No. 50. Is that overkill on offensive skill players or wise thinking? With big money and draft capital previously invested in the tight end position, would the selection of Kmet be wise? Can the Bears stand pat with their defense as currently constructed?
-- Former Cubs slugger Sammy Sosa told Hector Gomez of Z Deportes that, "I have faith in God that any year of these, I am going to go to Chicago and we will solve any misunderstanding, that bad taste that we have." Sosa based some of that hope on his contention that ex-Cubs manager Dusty Baker gave him permission to leave the final game of the 2004 season early. Will this thaw the relationship between the Cubs and Sosa? Should it?
-- The college football season might be postponed until next spring, according to Chris Fowler of ESPN. What does that tell you about the importance of the sport to colleges? Are you on board if that happens?
