Allen Robinson believes Bears' offense is close to breakthrough

"Everybody is taking accountability for what's going on," Robinson says.

(670 The Score) Shortly after the Bears pulled through with a 23-16 win against the Panthers on Sunday, players in the visiting locker room at Bank of America Stadium were discussing how they could improve.

On Wednesday morning, the Bears reconvened inside Halas Hall and dug deeper into their offensive issues. Top receiver Allen Robinson felt it was one of the Bears' most productive film sessions of the season.

"Everybody is taking accountability for what's going on," Robinson said. "Nobody's pointing any fingers or things like that. Guys are looking for the areas they can improve on."

The Bears' offense has struggled through six games, ranking 28th in the NFL in yards per game (312.8), 27th in yards per play (4.8) and 27th in scoring (21.3 points). Despite the Bears' poor offensive play, they are 5-1 and sit in first place atop the NFC North.

"We all care and we all have to do whatever we can to get this thing fixed," coach Matt Nagy said Monday. "We're 5-1 right now, and we're not playing well offensively. So when we do get this thing up and running, which we will, it's going to be fun. It's going to be a lot of fun. That's the goal.

"We understand where our warts are on offense. We get that, and we're going to keep working on it. But we're going to continue to stay positive as we do this, because of where we know we're at and where we're going."

Robinson feels the key to opening up the Bears offense will be converting on more explosive plays, something that has been missing through six games.

For his part, Robinson leads the Bears with 40 receptions for 474 yards and two touchdowns. He feels Chicago's offense is getting close to a breakthrough.

"We're not where we want to be at," Robinson said. "But I don't think we're far off at all."
