Bears activate guard Teven Jenkins from injured reserve

(670 The Score) The Bears have activated guard Teven Jenkins from injured reserve, making him eligible to return for their game against the Commanders on Thursday night.

Jenkins missed the first four games of the regular season due to a calf injury. He was slated to start at left guard this season. It wasn't immediately clear whether he'll step directly into that role in a full capacity.

Jenkins returned to practice this week as a full participant after he was officially designated for a return Monday. He has played in 19 games (13 starts) over his first two NFL seasons.

The Bears on Thursday released reserve quarterback Nathan Peterman in a corresponding roster move. Safety A.J. Thomas was also elevated from the practice squad to the active roster as safety Eddie Jackson (foot) has been ruled out and safety Jaquan Brisker (hamstring) is questionable to play.

The Bears (0-4) and Commanders (2-2) kick off at 7:15 p.m. CT from FedEx Field.
