(670 The Score) After being forced to clear Halas Hall on Thursday morning due to a COVID-19 scare, the Bears were cleared by the NFL and will resume normal football activities Friday.
The Bears learned Thursday morning of a positive COVID-19 test for center Cody Whitehair, the team's second positive test of the week. A team official declined to reveal whether Whitehair's positive test was later confirmed as a negative result.
The Bears will hold a practice Friday after conducting their work virtually Thursday. It's not clear if the team will hold a full practice or its customary lighter work for a Friday. The Bears are scheduled to take the practice field early in the afternoon.
The Bears didn't place any players on the COVID-19 reserve list Thursday, with coach Matt Nagy explaining that the initial positive result still needed to be confirmed. The team identified close contacts of Whitehair and sent those individuals into self-isolation.
In a positive development, the Bears on Friday activated guard Germain Ifedi from the COVID-19 reserve list. He had been on that list because he was deemed to have been a close contact of offensive lineman Jason Spriggs, who tested positive for COVID-19 early in the week.
Nagy is scheduled to address reporters Friday afternoon.
